Quote of the Day

After a rather long conversation about the past, present, and future of hybrid cars:

History Buff: So, what kind of car do you drive?

Math Whiz: A Honda Civic.

History Buff: Oh. I drive a Saturn Ion. It has a really great turning radius.
When "a really great turning radius" is the selling point of your car, maybe you should just avoid conversations about cars altogether.

I drive a Honda Accord. It has moderately effective windshield wipers.

So what's unimpressive about your car?

Our new Camry has a sick center console. That thing is huge!

If the turning radius of your car is its selling point, avoid conversations altogether.

My vehicle only has two tires and one of them is flat! Uh... the selling point is that the wheels are easily detachable and it fits in the trunk of a friend's car when you actually need to go somewhere far, or somewhere in the dark, or somewhere in the rain, or somewhere when it's really hot outside, or somewhere where you need to buy lots of things, or...

It only costs me thirty dollars a tank, and I get all of two hundred miles out of it.

Why did you tell her you drive a Civic when you drive an Accord?

I'm stats, DP. Stats. The Math Whiz is the math tutor. He drives a Civic.

Ah. You know, her Ion really does have an amazing turning radius. I've driven it.
